Cómo llegar
Ahuás se ubica en la Mosquitia de Honduras, departamento Gracias a Dios. Hay dos maneras de llegar. La primera es un vuelo en avioneta de La Ceiba a Ahuás con la aerolínea Aerocaribe. El vuelo cuesta $150 (3,200 Lps.) solo la ida.
La segunda manera es por tierra de La Ceiba a Batalla, y de ahí en lancha por río a Brus Laguna. De Brus Laguna hay transporte por el Río Patuca a Ahuás. El costo total de este transporte cuesta más o menos 1,800 Lps. y el viaje dura dos días.
La vida en Ahuás
Ahuás es un municipio con un hospital, varias pulperías, un colegio, e iglesias de varias denominaciones. No tiene banco ni cajero automático (ATM), pero se puede enviar y recibir remesas. Hay servicio de Internet con el plan de Tigo.
La lengua materna de la gente es el Miskito, pero la mayoría habla Español también. Es una gran oportunidad de conocer otras culturas y aprender otros idiomas.
La vida en la sede de JUCUM
Hay hospedaje para individuos o grupos. Tenemos agua potable y luz. Las letrinas y baños están afuera. Todos trabajamos juntos en la preparación de comida y la limpieza, aunque para grupos podemos contratar una cocinera.
Las personas que visitan deben traer su ropa de cama y toalla, mosquitero, y repelente.

How to get here
Ahuas is located in the Mosquitia of Honduras, Gracias a Dios. There are two ways to get here. The first is a flight
from La Ceiba to Ahuas with the airline Aerocaribe. The cost of the flight is $150 (3,200 Lempiras) one way.
The second way is by land from La Ceiba to Batalla, and from there by motorboat on the river to Brus Laguna. From Brus Laguna there is transportation on the Patuca River. The total cost of this transportation is about 1,800 Lempiras y the trip lasts two days.
Life in Ahuas
Ahuas is a municipality with a hospital, several stores, a high school, and churches of several denominations. It doesn't have a bank nor an ATM, but you can send and receive money. There is Internet service with the Tigo plan.
The mother tongue of the people is Miskito, but most speak Spanish, too. It's a great opportunity to know other cultures and learn other languages.
Living on the YWAM base
There is housing for individuals or groups. We have running water and electricity. The outhouses and shower houses are outside. We all work together in meal preparation and clean-up, although for groups we can hire a cook.
Visitors should bring their bedding and towel, mosquito net, and repellent.
